Elpiniki Zervou

The soprano Elpiniki Zervou was born in Athens and grew up in Loutraki of Corinthia. In 1992 she started her studies in acting at the Drama School “Tomi” of M. Panoutsou . At the same time she started her studies in singing with F. Voutsinos and later with K. Paschalis under the tuition of whom she graduated with an A Diploma and was also awarded the 1st prize. She continued studying the art of singing with Maria Koromanzou, Despoina Kalafati and Aris Christofelis. She holds a singing degree as well as a diploma in English (First Certificate in English - Lower of Cambridge) and a diploma in German (Zertifikat). She has also followed classes of classical dance. She achieved a distinction at the “Maria Callas” competition of the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron)

She began her solo career with the following:
Die hochzeit by I. Stravinsky and the Ninth Symphony by L.V. Beethoven at the Festival of Horto under the direction of G. Chatzinikos. In 1999 she began her collaboration with the Greek National Opera and since then she has interpreted the following roles: Smaragda in The tear of the moon by N. Xanthoulis, Ophelia in Maestro Conbravura by Yiannis Drositis, One of the six girls in Mahoganny by K. Weill Gretel and Sandmännchen in Hänselund Gretel by E. Humberding, Pamina and Papagena in Die Zäuberflote by W. A. Mozart , Clorinda in La Cenerentola by G. Rossini, Pauline in La vie Parisienne by J. Offenbach, Serpetta in La finta Giardiniera by W. A. Mozart, Morgana in Alcina by G. F. Händel, The second niece in Peter Grimes by B. Britten, Elvira in L’Italiana in Algeri by G. Rossini, Susanna and Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro by W. A. Mozart, Titika in the operetta The Apaches of Athens by N. Chatziapostolou, Soubrette in The virus of love by K. Giannidis.

She also interpreted as a cover the following roles: Romilda in Serse by G. F. Händel, Angelica in Orlando furioso by A. Vivaldi, Adina in L’elisir d’amore by G. Donizetti. She also collaborated with the Chamber Opera of Athens interpreting the following roles: Kiki in The Godson by Th. Sakellarides, Coraline in Le fifre enchanté by J. Offenbach, Lauretta in Le Docteur miracle by G. Bizet, Fanchette in Le marriage aux lanternes by J. Offenbach.
In a production of the municipal Conservatory of Larisa she interpreted the following roles: Vivika in the operetta The Godson by Th. Sakellarides, Frasquita in Carmen by G. Bizet. In a production of the Prefecture of Corinthia she interpreted the role of Alcandro in L’Olympiade by G. Paisiello. In the free theatre she interpreted the role of the Fairy Dora in The sleeping Beauty by Z. Terzakis. She collaborated with the Chamber Orchestra of the Greek National Opera interpreting the motet Exultate Jubilate by W. A. Mozart. She participated in the production of the Athens Concert Hall Organisation: Die Frau ohne Schatten by R. Strauss and Zwerg by Zemlinsky (the 2nd maid) Tereza Lachanida in El Retablo de las Maravillas by G. Kouroupos. She has collaborated with the Cyprus State Orchestra: in the Festival of Patmos with works of W. A. Mozart and V. Tenidis and in various concerts in Cyprus as well. She participated in the Festival of Religious Music Gaude Mater in Poland with works of W. A. Mozart and F. Schubert.

She has also interpreted the following works: Stabat Mater by G. P. Pergolesi, Stabat Mater by L. Boccherini, I vaticini di pace, an oratorium by Antonio Caldara. Prophecy by Eir. Triantafyllou for soprano, guitar and orchestra (1st Pan-Hellenic performance), Mega Paraklitikon by V. Tenidis (1st Pan-Hellenic performance), The 13 Spanish folk songs of F. G. Lorca, Blood Wedding by M. Hatzidakis. She has collaborated with the Orchestra of Colours interpreting Mm Silberklang in the Impresario by W. A. Mozart. Furthermore she has collaborated with the Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens and the ensemble Ekato Kithares (100 guitars) of Vaggelis Boudournis.

She has performed concerts in Greece and in Cyprus as well. Since 1999 she has been collaborating with the Greek National Opera.
